东芝与SanDisk联合投资40亿美元建新工厂

网易科技讯 8月6日消息，据路透社报道，《日经新闻》称，东芝计划与SanDisk联合投资4000亿日元（约合40亿美元）建设一家内存工厂。东芝计划在新工厂生产16-17纳米芯片，通过在单一晶圆片上生产更多芯片，取得对三星电子的优势。
该报称，新工厂预计在下一个财年（2014年4月起）开始投产。目前东芝生产的芯片为19纳米。新工厂可将东芝300纳米晶圆片产量从目前的45万块/月提高约20%。东芝与SanDisk此前已经建立了NAND闪存合资公司。
新工厂将位于日本三重县四日市，东芝与SanDisk将分摊工厂的建设成本。这是东芝在近2年时间里首次在生产方面进行的大投资。（木秀林）
