加拿大Nova Scotia省的10岁男孩Nathan Gray在PGC 61330星系发现了一颗6亿年前爆发的超新星。他击败了他的姐姐Kathryn Aurora Gray，成为最年轻的超新星发现者。Kathryn是在2011年10岁那年发现了超新星UGC 3378，而Nathan发现超新星的年龄比姐姐小33天。Nathan是在浏览Abbey Ridge天文台 Dave Lane拍摄的天文图像时发现这颗超新星。这项发现已得到加拿大皇家天文学会的确认，但国际天文学联合会表示还需要使用大望远镜再次确认。
