Google周一宣布收购美国无人机制造商泰坦航空（Titan Aerospace），收购价格未披露。数周前，Facebook以2000万美元收购英国无人机制造商Ascenta。泰坦航空拥有约20名员工，总部位于新墨西哥州，该公司生产高空无人机，能在空中停留数年。泰坦航空目前正在开发两种无人机，能通过机翼上的太阳能电池板进行充电，可用于监测森林火灾以及从空中拍摄地球视频。Google表示泰坦公司将与Project Loon项目密切合作，该项目主要设计大型高纬度平台气球，为世界偏远地区传送互联网信号。Google发言人表示："目前合作尚处在初期，但大气卫星可以帮助数百万人接入互联网，并帮助解决其他问题，包括赈灾以及滥砍滥伐等环境灾难。这就是我们为什么会怀着兴奋的心情欢迎泰坦航空加入Google的原因。"
