Twitter在土耳其屏蔽了两个被用于传播土耳其总理埃尔多安(Recep Tayyip Erdogan）腐败指控的帐号。Twitter的审查策略是基于国别，也就是某国的用户将无法浏览该国的被审查帐号，但其它国家的用户可以正常访问。被屏蔽的两个帐号分别是@Haramzadeler333 和@Bascalan，他们泄漏了与埃尔多安相关的秘密文档和对话录音，帐号的名字也有特定意义：Haramzadeler代表盗贼之子，Bascalan代表"盗贼总理"。Twitter表示没有将两个帐号的细节信息提供给土耳其政府。
