　　由于目前7英寸平板电脑市场竞争过于激烈，谷歌觉得在今年第二季度之初就推出新款的Nexus平板，不过这款平板并不是7英寸的，而是8英寸的，正是因为LG G Pad 8.3和苹果iPad mini 2的推出，让谷歌不得不快速的发布这款产品。
　　据悉由于Nexus 7二代的销量只有300万台，远远低于之前的预期，这次的Nexus 8将会在性能上更为强劲。分辨率上依旧保持Nexus 7的1920×1200像素，但在外形上将会作出新的改变，同时这款平板还将会加入闪光灯。

　　Nexus 8 将作为 Nexus 7 的接班人，变身成第二代Nexus小尺寸平板，不过规格更为强大，内部搭载的是高通 Snapdragon 600 四核 CPU，内置2GB RAM和 32GB 储存。但不知道到时候会不会伴随着谷歌全新的系统一起发布，毕竟去年谷歌的Nexus 7二代就是这样。
