在博客文章中嵌入一个超链接是一种将读者引导到相关信息的简单方式，这也是互联网的一种主要工作方式。但嵌入链接是否需要经过原作者/版权所有者的许可？在一个备受瞩目的案件中（Nils Svensson and others vs. Retriever Sverige AB）中，欧盟最高法院作出裁决：本案不需要。欧洲法院认为，指向公开发表的可自由访问内容的超链接没有违反欧盟法律，不需要版权所有者的授权，但绕过付费墙等版权作品保护措施的超链接则不在此例，可能涉嫌侵犯版权。
