浙江大学和北卡州立大学的俞绍才在《环境化学快报》发表文章，提出了遏制中国及世界其它城市严重空气污染和雾霾的新方法：在高楼及高塔顶上安装喷水装置向建筑物外大气喷水。俞绍才提出，向大气中喷水以模拟下雨的自然过程是最有效清除大气中的气溶胶和气体污染物的方法。他指出，喷出的水在地面上可以收集和再使用，采用这种大气喷水方案不会加剧现有的水资源短缺。根据他的研究，在合理的喷水条件下，大气喷水地球工程方法可在很短时间内有效减少细颗粒的浓度到每立方米35微克。这种方法在技术上是可行的，而且高效和低成本。俞绍才写道，"如果你可以花半小时浇灌你的花园，你也可以花30分钟清洗你周围的大气，得到清洁的空气。"This entry passed through the Full-Text RSS service — if this is your content and you're reading it on someone else's site, please read the FAQ at fivefilters.org/content-only/faq.php#publishers.
